Team Toad: Fins N Things, Moab, Utah
Fins N Things (September 22, 2024) is the fifth Jeep Badge of Honor trail
I've done in the EcoToad.
What made this time special was my son Dan got to ride along on his first Jeep wheeling experience.
Although I had the impression that this was an easy trail, I have to remember that most of my Jeep friends are hard core rock crawlers. Wells and Peterson's Guide to Moab lists this as a difficult but fun trail with great views.
With 37s and diesel power under the hood, we had no trouble getting through, and the scenery was indeed dramatic. The biggest challenge was trying to decide whether each rock was a fin or a thing.
I even logged a personal best on Fins N Things: at one point the pitch meter hit 32 degrees nose up... even higher than on the Rubicon.
As the guidebook says, there were a lot of motorbikes and side-by-sides on the trail with us.
